FOLKLURE

A middle-grade fantasy adventure

What do dragons,
unicorns,
the Pacific Centre Mall,
and special-edition Pogs
have in common?

They all collide in FOLKLURE, a MG fantasy adventure where 1994 Vancouver meets a whimsical hidden Faerie Realm.

FOLKLURE

When Hydra, a twelve-year-old forest-elf girl, and a LARP-obsessed human boy accidentally unleash a long-dormant dragon, they're swept into a chaotic cross-realm adventure involving a temperamental living sword, a grumpy retired war-unicorn, and a squad of teen dragon hunters determined to wipe out magical beasts. But as Hydra hunts the creature threatening both worlds, she discovers the line between hero and monster isn't as clear as she thought.

Humour, folklore, and heart — a fast-paced coming-of-age adventure about identity, belonging, and the courage to choose connection over fear.

Fowler & Wells

Two creative voices, one universe.

The works of Fowler and Wells are an engaging bit of fantasy, meant to pull you from the mundane into a vast, ever-winding multifaceted story filled with fun characters, fast-paced plots and the occasional badguy with a blade.

Fowler and Wells have crafted a grand universe of all sorts of magical—and not-so-magical—beings, who come face-to-face with the daily struggles most of us can relate to, like found family, identity, self-discovery, culture shock, the power of friendship, navigating what it means to belong, and what it feels like to have magic powers and the responsibility of saving the universe held squarely on your shoulders.
